Meet Phil Ankel
Philip Ankel (“Phil”) and his family came to Chatham five years ago after having worked and lived most recently in Germany and Hong Kong. He currently works as the head of audit for a large industrial multinational reviewing how the company handles financial, operational, IT and legal risks in its North American business. He is an attorney, with a B.A. from the University of California and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
Phil brings a background in public service to this role having spent nine years with the Commerce Department addressing nonproliferation and national security topics in Washington D.C. and abroad.
Phil serves on the Vestry Committee at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chatham Borough, along with two of his teenage children, rising seniors at Chatham High School. He’s a proud supporter of Troop 28, home to his son’s Boy Scout Troop and his daughter’s Venture Troop. His elder daughter is a Chatham High School graduate and a sophomore at the University of Chicago. Phil spends a lot of his summer days at the Colony Pool where all three of the family’s children have lifeguarded while Phil and his wife, Albie, enjoy the beautiful outdoor space. Phil and his family are involved in a range of other Chatham activities and communities.
